What type of gift can I give to RSPCA Queensland in my Will?

There are several ways you can remember RSPCA Queensland in your Will. The most common types of gifts include a percentage gift, residual gift, or a specific gift.

A percentage gift – you can choose the percent of your total estate that goes to RSPCA Queensland, allowing your gift to maximise its value as your estate matures.

A residual gift – this is the most effective way to support animals. After you have provided for your loved ones, the whole or a percentage of the remainder of your estate can be left to RSPCA Queensland.

A specific gift - is a fixed sum of money or assets, including property, investments, or shares.

What specific wording should I put into my Will to ensure RSPCA gets my wishes?

Your solicitor may find it useful to refer to our suggested wording when updating your Will. Simply ask your solicitor to insert the appropriate clause selected from the wording below:

'I give free of all duties or taxes… [Please insert here the appropriate statement selected from the six options below]:

  1. the whole of my estate
  2. [insert number] percent of my estate
  3. the residue of my estate
  4. [insert number] percent of the residue of my estate
  5. the sum of $ [insert value of your gift]
  6. [insert number] of my [insert name of shares] shares

For bequests directed or distributed to RSPCA Queensland, your thoughtful gift will make a difference to our areas of greatest need or be used in line with your wishes.

Funding from kind people like you has helped to fund our services like our Adoption Centres, Wildlife Hospital, Veterinary Services, Inspectorate and Animal Rescue operations in Queensland. Our life-saving work could not continue without generous animal lovers like you leaving gifts in their Will.

Who will look after my pet if I pass away or have to go into care?

If there is no one in your life who can care for your pet if you are no longer able to, and you choose to leave a gift to RSPCA Queensland in your Will, we can help. Through our Home Ever After program, we will ensure your pet is cared for and found a loving new home.
