Your donation to RSPCA Queensland changes lives

Wallace is here today thanks to people like you.

Found on the streets in pain and unable to walk, Wallace was just three months old when he was brought into RSPCA Queensland care to receive urgent veterinary treatment.

After undergoing surgery to fix his broken leg, our veterinary team also discovered that Wallace had cerebellar hypoplasia - a condition where part of the brain doesn’t develop as it should.

While Wallace will always be a bit wobbly on his feet due to his condition, it hasn’t affected his zest for life - now adopted into a caring, new home.

His story is only possible thanks to people like you. Your donation helps provide emergency veterinary treatment, medical supplies, shelter care and rehabilitation - so animals in need can get a second chance

Frequently asked questions

Is RSPCA QLD fully government funded?

RSPCA Queensland is 91% community funded, with just 6% of our income coming from government sources. This means almost everything we do, from rescuing animals in crisis to providing veterinary care and rehoming, depends on the generosity of people like you.

Your support directly impacts the number of animals we can reach, treat, and protect.

Where does my money go?

Your donations directly supports the care of animals in need across Queensland, including rescue, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and rehoming efforts. Funds also support our wildlife hospital, education programs, and community outreach initiatives.

Most importantly, your gift goes where it is needed most to ensure we can respond quickly and effectively to animals in urgent need.

Can I choose where my donation goes?

To ensure your generosity has the greatest possible impact, donations are directed to the areas of greatest need. This allows us to respond quickly and effectively wherever support is needed most. If you would like to support a specific program, such as Wildlife, Rescue, or the Pets in Crisis program, please contact us, and we will work with you to accommodate your wishes.

A gift left in your Will can also be directed to specific areas of impact.

Is my donation tax deductible and will I receive a receipt?

Yes, any contribution over $2 is tax deductible in Australia.

Receipts for one-off donations are sent immediately.

Monthly supporters receive an annual consolidated receipt at the end of the financial year.

Does RSPCA Queensland ask for donations over the phone?

Yes, RSPCA Queensland does partner with carefully selected agencies to help raise vital funds for animals in need. The purpose of these calls varies, from inviting our supporters to join our monthly giving program, offering the opportunity to purchase RSPCA Lottery tickets, or updating your existing details.

Our tele-fundraising agencies will always identify themselves at the beginning of the call and all calls are recorded for training purposes.

Tele-fundraising is an important and effective way for us to support the thousands of animals that rely on us every year. If you’re ever unsure about a call or would like to confirm its legitimacy, our Supporter Care team is more than happy to assist on 1300 264 625 or at supportercare@rspcaqld.org.au.
