Learn dog body language
While our canine companions can’t speak to us verbally, we can learn a lot about what they are saying through body language.

Meet Jaffa, a handsome fellow who is looking for a patient and understanding adopter to help him feel safe and secure. Jaffa came into care alongside a large group of cats and kittens and was initially quite fearful. However, once he had time to settle in, he completely transformed into a wonderfully smoochy and social boy who loves human company! Because he is still quite timid and can be unsure around loud noises or fast movements, he will need a little time to decompress in a new environment before his true, loving self shines through.
Jaffa is best suited to a peaceful household with calm, older children who can read basic cat body language and know when to give him some quiet space. Since he arrived at the shelter with other felines, he may do well living with a friendly, social cat companion, provided they are given slow and proper introductions. He may also adapt to sharing his home with a calm, social dog if his new family is able to carefully monitor their interactions. If you can offer a gentle routine and a quiet space to bloom, Jaffa will reward your patience by becoming your most affectionate, loyal companion.
