Odin's Story

Say hello to Odin, a happy-go-lucky boy with a heart as big as his smile! This handsome brindle fellow is always ready to tackle life's adventures with enthusiasm, optimism, and perhaps a little bit of bounce!

At just 2.5 years old, Odin still has plenty of youthful energy and can be a little "spring-loaded" at times. Whether he's zooming around the yard, making new friends, or eagerly waiting to learn something new, this boy approaches everything with pure joy.

Odin is a super trainable boy who absolutely loves working with his people. His focus is beautiful, and he's always keen to show off his prize-winning "Sit" whenever the opportunity arises.

Got treats? Great! Odin is ready to enrol in Team Human and become your star student. Whether it's learning new tricks, practicing good manners, or tackling fun training games, he loves using his brain and earning rewards.

He could use a little extra work polishing up his leash manners, but with his eagerness to learn and food-loving nature, he's got all the ingredients needed to succeed.

Odin has happily lived with multiple other dogs in the past and would love the chance to make some canine friends again.

His dream companion?

A social, friendly female dog who captures his heart at a meet-and-greet and becomes his partner-in-crime for adventures, zoomies, and afternoon naps.

No cats for our Odin - they're a bit too tempting to chase!

Odin has lived with children of all ages and thought they were an absolute blast! He enjoys being involved in family life and would thrive in a home where he can be part of the action while continuing to learn and grow.

Odin's previous family made the difficult decision to surrender him because he needed a little more one-on-one time and guidance to help him become the very best version of himself. The good news? This boy is worth every second of effort.

If you're willing to invest a little time, patience, and plenty of treats into Odin, you'll be rewarded tenfold with a truly special companion.

He's the kind of dog who'll wake up beside you every morning with a wagging tail and a sparkle in his eye, asking: "So... what are we getting up to today?!". Whether it's a walk, a training session, a road trip, or simply hanging out together, Odin is ready to be your loyal teammate, biggest fan, and best mate.

Could Odin be the missing piece of your family? Come meet this handsome brindle boy and see if it's love at first sniff!

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
