Evie's Story

🌸 Meet Evie 🌸

Age: 2 years

Breed: Toy Poodle Mix

Evie is a gentle, sweet-natured little girl with a sensitive soul, ready to find her perfect forever home. 💕

IN FOSTER CARE

💖 Personality

Evie thrives on love and companionship. She is a devoted, affectionate pup who enjoys being close to her person—whether that’s cuddling on your lap or being carried around for reassurance. She forms strong bonds and will be a wonderfully loyal companion once she feels safe and secure.

She does have a shy side and prefers a calm, peaceful environment where she can relax without stress. Loud or sudden noises can frighten her, so she’s best suited to a quiet household.

🏡 Ideal Home

Evie would do best in a patient and understanding home where someone is around most of the time, as she can be quite clingy and enjoys constant companionship. She tends to feel most comfortable with women and would love a home where she can settle at her own pace.

A predictable routine is very important for Evie—it helps her build confidence and feel secure in her surroundings.

🐾 Training & Needs

  • Mostly toilet trained, but may have occasional accidents on the carpet while adjusting
  • Will often bark to let you know she needs to go outside
  • Needs time, patience, and consistency to fully settle into a new home

Evie has been thriving in foster care, making great progress as she builds trust and adjusts to routines.

🐶 Other Pets

Evie prefers to be the only dog in the home, as she does not enjoy sharing her food or space with other animals.

Important medical information:

Evie has been diagnosed with micropthalmia, or small eyeballs, which may or may not cause vision impairment and secondary eye problems in the future (such as dry eye, entropian, cataracts, etc.). New owners accept all responsibility for the care and costs of any future problems that may arise from this or any related condition.

She will also need grooming every 6 weeks.

🌼 The Perfect Match

Evie is looking for someone who will give her the time, understanding, and gentle care she deserves. In return, she will blossom into a loving, devoted companion who will happily stay by your side and fill your home with warmth.

✨ With patience and love, Evie will grow into the most beautiful little companion—and she can’t wait to find her person. ✨

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
