Evie and Cindy mean the world to Alison and Bob. They were both adopted from the RSPCA and Evie had suffered a terrible life of cruelty before finding her forever home with them.

Find out how you can make a positive impact on the lives of animals into the future. This is Alison and Bob's story.

Alison and Bob with Evie and Cindy

“I know that Evie had a tough life before she found us - she was one of 100 poodles seized by the RSPCA. The dogs were living in dreadful conditions, in cages and just general filth and we wanted to give her a second chance at life.

“We wanted her to live the life that she was meant to have, sleeping on the couch at home and getting lots of treats. She’s been with us for 11 years now and we couldn’t imagine life without her.

“Cindy found her home with us when our dog Ruddy very sadly had to be put to sleep. It was meant to be as they both complete our lives and our family. But we also know that RSPCA Queensland was there for them in the beginning so we made the decision to support their work and provide a lasting legacy.”

“We also know that if anything happens to us, the folks at RSPCA will look after Evie and Cindy and find them a wonderful new home through the Home Ever After program.”

“I have seen firsthand through my volunteering that the RSPCA treats all animals with love and dignity. Animals cannot prevent the cruelty that they suffer at the hands of terrible people. But I know that RSPCA Queensland are there to be the voice of the voiceless. That is why we made the decision to leave a gift in our Will to help animals like Evie escape from cruelty.”
