All donations doubled for one day only

Thursday 1 October marks the RSPCA's annual Give to Get Them Home appeal. A one-day fundraising initiative where every dollar donated is doubled, thanks to major partners and generous individual supporters.

Every day, more than 40 animals come through the doors of RSPCA Queensland. Each has a different story, but they all need care before their journey to a new home can begin.

Your gift starts their journey home

It can cost the RSPCA around $600 for each dog that enters their care to desex, vaccinate, microchip and vet check them before putting them up for adoption.

RSPCA Queensland Vet Dr Anne Chester said that care can range from routine veterinary treatment to surgery, rehabilitation and behavioural support.

“For some animals, the journey home begins with a vaccination, microchip and health check," Dr Chester said.

"For others, it requires urgent surgery, weeks of recovery or time to rebuild their confidence. By supporting Give to Get Them Home, Queenslanders can help give every animal the care and support they need for their next chapter.”

With more than 5,246 animals expected to be in care by December, we are aiming to raise $750,000 in just 24 hours. Enough to help 1,250 pets find loving homes before Christmas.

Every donation doubled

To ensure thousands of animals can continue to receive critical treatment and care at the RSPCA as they approach the busiest time of the year, the charity is urging community members to get involved in this major fundraising initiative across Australia.

Here's how your donation can help:

• $50 can vaccinate a dog or cat.
• $200 cares for an animal for a week.
• $1,000 rescues and rehabilitates an abused or neglected animal.
• $600, covers desexing, microchipping, vaccinations and vet care and that’s before daily food and shelter costs.

National Giving Partners for Give to Get The Home 2026 are: Peter Alexander, Royal Canin and Bravecto.

RSPCA Queensland's matched giving partners for this year are: Claire May Real Estate, The Information Management Group (TIMG), FTI Consulting and Jumbo Interactive.

Last year, 3,258 generous Queenslanders donated to the appeal, raising $803,072 for animals in need.
