Learn dog body language
While our canine companions can’t speak to us verbally, we can learn a lot about what they are saying through body language.

Meet Penny, a smart, affectionate, and playful young girl who is looking for an active family to include her in daily activities and weekend adventures. As a young working breed, she has plenty of energy and a sharp mind, meaning she will need a dedicated owner who can provide daily physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep boredom at bay. She absolutely thrives on food-based enrichment—loving everything from store-bought Kongs and snuffle mats to DIY puzzle feeders made from recycled egg cartons and cardboard boxes—and while she currently only knows her "sit" cue, she is highly food-motivated and eager to learn more through continued training.
Penny is a true companion who must be allowed indoors to be a proper part of the family, and she loves playing with soft toys, even if she hasn't quite mastered fetch just yet. She is open to a home with children, provided they can meet her at the time of adoption to ensure a perfect match. Because Penny is quite unsure and worried around other dogs she is not suited for dog parks or dog beaches, and she may be best off as an only dog; however, she could potentially share a home with a very calm, respectful canine sibling after a slow introduction walk at adoption time
Visit your nearest RSPCA Adoption Centre, RSPCA Op Shop, RSPCA World for Pets or Petbarn store and adopt an animal in person. You can also apply to adopt an animal online.
