Some dogs demand the spotlight. Others quietly work their way into your heart. ❤️

Chocolate is one of those dogs.

At 6 years old, this handsome Kelpie gentleman is the perfect blend of companion and adventurer. One moment he's happily curled up on your bed enjoying a lazy afternoon 🛏️, and the next he's ready to join you on a sniffari expedition, investigating every interesting scent the world has to offer. 🌿🐾

Chocolate has endured a difficult life. He was starved, tethered, and denied the comforts every dog deserves. 💔 Yet somehow, despite everything he's been through, he greets each day with optimism, a softly wagging tail, and his signature happy face. 😊

Perhaps the most striking thing about Chocolate is his beautiful brown eyes. 👀 Full of hope and expectation, they seem to say, "Maybe today is the day my family finds me."

This lovely boy has wonderful manners around the shelter. He keeps his kennel spotless, enjoys his morning walks, and settles quietly afterwards, content to relax and watch the world go by. 🏡

While Chocolate enjoys downtime, he also loves a good play session with his canine friends. 🐕 He has been social with the other shelter dogs he has met and would likely enjoy sharing his home with a friendly, sociable canine companion, pending a successful meet and greet.

Chocolate isn't asking for the world. He simply deserves what every dog should have had from the beginning:

🛏️ A warm, comfortable place to sleep

❤️ A family who loves him

🐾 Adventures, walks, and time spent together

🏡 The security of knowing he is finally home

Despite the hardships of his past, Chocolate remains gentle, loving, and hopeful. He has so much affection to give and would make a wonderful family companion for someone looking for a loyal, easy-going best friend.

Chocolate arrived to us in terrible condition & tested positive for Heartworm. He is currently undergoing treatment. The RSPCA will cover all costs of this treatment until he tests negative. We are happy to discuss this with you further if you are interested in adopting him.
