Learn dog body language
While our canine companions can’t speak to us verbally, we can learn a lot about what they are saying through body language.

Joey is a big, boofy and playful young boy who will thrive in a home that can provide structure, routine, and ongoing training to help him manage his excitable energy. He can become easily over-aroused during handling and may jump up and mouth when excited, so he’ll need support to build calm behaviours and “four paws on the floor,” though he responds well to gentle handling like massage and T-Touch. Joey would suit a calm home with someone around more often than not, as he may become anxious when left alone, and would benefit from crate training to give him a quiet space to relax and switch off. He is best suited to a home with older teens who can be involved in his training. Joey can be social with other dogs but is quite full-on and pushy, so he will need to meet any resident dog and would be best matched with a calm, tolerant companion with slow introductions. He is not suitable for dog parks or off-leash areas.
