Bindi's Story

Bindi is a sweet and intelligent girl looking for a patient, caring home where she can settle in at her own pace. She can feel a little unsure in new environments and around new people, so she’ll thrive in a calm household that provides structure, routine, and gentle, positive experiences.

Once she’s built trust and confidence, Bindi will enjoy quiet walks in familiar areas, though busy places like cafes and parks may be overwhelming for her. She loves enrichment activities such as kongs and snuffle games, which will help keep her mind engaged.

Bindi is a clever girl who already knows basic commands like sit and down, and she’ll benefit from continued training. She also loves playing fetch—especially with tennis balls—and enjoys spending time close to her people, soaking up attention and affection.

Bindi would be best suited to a home with older, calm, and respectful children, and she’ll need to meet any potential canine companions prior to adoption. She has previously lived with other dogs and has shown social, playful behaviour.

With patience and love, Bindi will blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion.

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
