Walk for dogs like Rocky

Rocky was certainly the underdog. This poor American Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross was found wandering the streets in Gladstone with severe burns to his body. He had been doused in acid and had open wounds. He urgently needed help.

We knew from the moment we saw Rocky that he needed urgent medical attention and it would be a slow recovery for this poor boy. 

Rocky was a fighter and were we determined to give him the best possible chance at a happy new life! 

You can help us ensure pets like Rocky get emergency care by walking and fundraising for them at this year's RSPCA Million Paws Walk in May.

Rocky received salt washes and medical treatment, but healing was a slow process for him. He was itchy and scarred, but he loved a good belly rub and skin massages from his foster carer.

With care, treatment and love, Rocky made a full recovery and has since been adopted into a loving home.

His new owner says that Rocky has settled into his forever home perfectly, “He likes running in the sprinkler, he wakes up the teenage boys by jumping on their beds each morning and looks at all of us lovingly whenever we have food.”

We rely heavily on our generous supporters to fund our life saving services that we provide to domestic and wild animals. It costs over 50 million dollars each year to help animals in Queensland alone and we only receive four percent of that in government funding. We cannot save them without YOU!
