Our brand new Toowoomba Animal Care Centre is now open!

At the end of February 2020, our long-awaited dream of moving into a spacious and state-of-the-art animal shelter in Toowoomba came true. While finishing touches are still being made to the building, our new RSPCA Toowoomba shelter at Wellcamp, will make a huge difference to the lives of animals in the region.

Dealing with rundown facilities for many years, our team did their best to support the thousands of dogs and cats requiring care every year at the old location. Now, under 20 minutes’ drive from our original location, with more space and better facilities, animal welfare is the heart of our new shelter.

But, this dream of building a better RSPCA in the region took a lot of support to make a reality! With assistance from the Australian Government’s Building Better Regions Fund, along with generous RSPCA donors, our animals, volunteers and staff, can now provide the best animal care. Hon Dr John McVeigh MP has been a great supporter of our cause in the region and helped make the new facility possible. He was there to cut the ribbon to open our doors on February 28, 2020.

It was wonderful to share the day with so many passionate animal lovers, keen to see how they’ve helped shaped animal welfare in Toowoomba. If you want to leave your mark on our new facility and help us care for animals in need, find out how you can sponsor a paver here.

As well as being able to house 200 animals at the new RSPCA Toowoomba; from dogs, cats, livestock and small animals; the new facility also has public boarding and grooming services.

To book your pet in for boarding or grooming, call us on 07 4634 1304. Your pets will be in the best hands, and you’ll be directly supporting animals waiting for a second chance too! We also have microchipping services available every Tuesday.

We’re always looking for volunteers to help support the animals of Toowoomba. Do you have a few hours per week free to volunteer? We’d love to have your help! You might want to drive our Animal Ambulance to rescue domestic and wild animals, help with gardening and maintenance, assist with customer service, become a foster carer, or put your photography skills to use by photographing our adoption animals.

Here’s a list of our current volunteer positions at our new Toowoomba RSPCA.
