Information

Animal is injured, sick or neglected and requires attention.

Imagine being dumped and completely abandoned like your life didn't matter...

That was the case for these two little kittens. Abandoned by their owner, a caring member of the public found them and brought them into the RSPCA for help.

Sadly, kittens Tyler and Reece aren’t the only unwanted animals that end up at the RSPCA. In fact, one of the top reasons animals are surrendered into our care is simply due to them being unloved and unwanted.

We believe every animal should have a loving home for life.

That’s why from June 1 until August 31, participating vets across Queensland are offering discounted dog and cat desexing as part of our Operation Wanted desexing initiative. Register to receive 20% off cat and dog desexing today.

Tyler wears his heart on his chest, knowing they both got a second chance and were adopted into loving new families.

Did you know kittens can start having their own litters from just 16 weeks of age? New research suggests that you should desex your cats at six months of age to avoid teen pregnancies! Read more.

Why should I desex my pet?

There are many health benefits when it comes to desexing your cat and dog (including preventing the deadly disease pyometra in female animals), not to mention preventing unexpected litters from being born!

Now in its eleventh year, our discounted desexing campaign is possible thanks to 134 participating vets and supporting councils: Brisbane City Council, Cairns Regional Council, Moreton Bay Regional Council, Southern Downs Regional Council, Rockhampton Regional Council and Toowoomba Regional Council. If you know someone who wants to desex their pet, please help by spreading the word about Operation Wanted.
