Fraser's Story

Hey there! I am Fraser a very cute and playful young chap looking for a new home. My breed is a bit of a mystery but the consensus is that I must be some sort of Pointer X. I have a beautiful coat not just in colour but it is so soft and luscious too. I am still learning my puppy manners and though I do know sit and wait, it is a very optional command to me at the minute. I am learning people don't like being jumped on but very slowly. I think I will need a home with humans who are able to put in the time to do the training I need. I will be the best dog with consistent training and boundaries as I am food motivated and eager to please. I LOVE LOVE LOVE other dogs and everyone is my new best friend! If you have another dog in your home I would love to meet them, staff are confident I will like them but your dog will have to be able to tolerate my silly playful puppy behaviour. I can go to a home with young children as long as they can tolerate being jumped on until I learn to not jump up. Otherwise I am the perfect pup! Come meet me soon!

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
