Raver's Story

Meet Raver

Raver is a young, energetic boy looking for a committed family ready to help him reach his full potential. He may have missed out on some important foundations in life, but he's eager to learn and is trying his best every day.

This clever lad will need adopters who are prepared to invest time in training, from basic manner to building better social skills. Previous training experience is helpful, though not essential, and working with a qualified trainer is strongly recommended.

Raver is searching for an active home that can provide both physical exercise and plenty of mental enrichment. Daily walks alone won't be enough for this bright boy. He would love activities such as agility, scent work, trick training, or other dog sports that allow him to use his brain and build confidence.

Raver is best suited to a home with older teens and needs to be the only dog in the household so he can enjoy all the attention for himself. He is not suitable for homes with cats, birds, or pocket pets.

For the right family, Raver will be a loyal and rewarding companion ready to take on life's adventures together.

5 foot secure fencing is required to keep him safe.

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
