Biscoff's Story

Hi! I'm Biscoff, just like the cookie! I'm just a young guy full of love, cuddles and is oh so cute. I have unfortunately made my way back to the RSPCA after being adopted as a puppy, so I'm ready to start my second chance at forever! I spend my days playing with my toys and enjoying long walks. I'm very friendly, always wagging my tail and making lots of friends with the other pups here! So, if you have another dog, I'd love to meet them first to make sure we're besties! I love being around people and always ready to snuggle up next to you, but I can be a bit silly at times so older or dog savvy kids preferred please! I am still young and my new home will need to continue my training, but I catch on quickly and I'm very treat motivated! If you're looking for a loyal friend to bring joy and companionship to your home, I'm the perfect pup for you. Adopt me and let's start our adventure together!

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
