Sampson's Story

 Meet Sampson 🐾

🤎 4 Month Old Brown Brindle Mix Irish Wolfhound × American Staffy × Mastiff

Sampson is a handsome young lad with a gorgeous brown brindle coat and a heart full of adventure! 🐶✨ At just 4 months old, he's a confident and curious youngster who is eager to learn all about the big wide world around him.

This clever boy loves exploring new sights, sounds, and experiences, and he's ready to soak up all the love, guidance, and fun that life has to offer. 💕 Like any puppy, Sampson is still learning the ropes and is looking forward to finding his very own people to share his journey with.

🐕 An older canine companion may be a wonderful match for Sampson, helping him learn good manners, build confidence, and show him how to become the bestest boy he can be. 🥰

If you're looking for a loyal best friend who, with the right approach, will grow into a devoted family companion, Sampson could be your perfect match! ❤️

🐶 Before Welcoming a Puppy Into Your Home

🌱 Learning About the World

Puppies are just beginning to figure out life with humans. Gentle, positive introductions to new sights, sounds, people, and experiences help them grow into confident and resilient dogs. Celebrate the behaviours you'd love to see more of with praise, treats, toys, and playtime. 🎉🐾

🦴 Chewing Instincts

Puppies LOVE to chew! 😋 Make sure Sampson has access to plenty of safe chew toys and manage his environment so shoes, furniture, and other treasures stay out of reach. Crates and puppy pens can provide a safe space for eating, resting, and relaxing. 🏡

🚽 Toilet Training

Patience and consistency are the keys to success. Accidents are a normal part of puppyhood, so focus on rewarding success rather than punishing mistakes. Every little win helps your puppy learn! 🌟

Energy & Curiosity

Puppies are energetic little explorers who love to play, learn, and occasionally test the rules. 😅 Be prepared to invest time into training, enrichment, and supervision. Children should always be taught how to interact gently and respectfully with puppies, and all playtime should be supervised. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🐕

❤️ A Long-Term Commitment

The love, patience, and consistency you provide now will help shape Sampson into a wonderful adult dog. Remember to research his breed mix and ensure his future needs fit your lifestyle. The effort you put in today will be rewarded with years of friendship, loyalty, and unconditional love. 🥰🐾

💙 Could you be the family that helps Sampson write the next chapter of his story? 🏡✨🐶

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
