Learn dog body language
While our canine companions can’t speak to us verbally, we can learn a lot about what they are saying through body language.

Hey there! My name is Irvin! I am a big fluffy boy looking for a new home. I may seem stand offish at first and if you move to quick I may hiss at you a little but offer me a treat tube and I will be your new best friend. I was a very tolerant boy for my intake, when I came into the shelter I had all sorts of burrs and weeds stuck to me and I tolerated all the brushing and fussing to get them out. I am a shy boy but I warm up quickly, staff think I would be best suited in a calmer home with older kids, that understand I may need a little space at first. I have not been at the shelter long so staff don't know how cat social I am yet. I have not been reactive to other cats, so staff are hopeful with slow introductions I will be able to make cat friends. I was found wandering the streets and brought to the pound, with no microchip, so no one knows my background but staff have guessed I might have a touch of maine coon in me given my size and fluffiness. So if you are after a lion look a like I may be your guy! Apply to adopt me today!
