Butters's Story

Meet Butters — the little squishy Staffy cross with a heart as soft as his name 🧈💛

If you’re looking for a dog that greets every day like it’s the best day ever, Butters might just be your perfect match. This happy-go-lucky boy absolutely adores people and thrives on human attention. Whether it’s leaning into you for pats, following you around the yard, or flashing his goofy grin after zooming around, Butters is guaranteed to keep a smile on your face.

Butters is also super social with other dogs and loves making canine friends, however any existing dogs in the home will still need to come in for a meet and greet to make sure everyone vibes well together.

Now… our sweet boy does come with a little “enthusiasm package” included 😅. Butters can be quite jumpy and has absolutely zero concept of personal space or manners at this stage, so we are recommending a home with children aged 12 years and over. He’s not trying to be naughty — he’s simply a little oversized lovebug who gets very excited about life!

With some ongoing training, consistency, and guidance, Butters is going to blossom into an incredible companion. He’s eager, affectionate, and full of personality — the kind of dog that makes a house feel like home.

If you’re after a fun-loving, people-obsessed best mate who’s ready to learn and love with his whole heart, Butters is patiently waiting to meet you 💙🐾✨

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
