Tank's Story

Meet Tank!

Tank is an energetic, intelligent young dog looking for a patient and committed family to help him continue developing his skills. He loves being around his people, whether he's soaking up affection, learning new things, or waiting hopefully for a tasty treat. Food is a huge motivator for Tank, and he thoroughly enjoys training and mental enrichment activities.

Tank is still learning his basic manners and would benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement training focused on impulse control, calm behaviours, and building reliable cues. He can become over-aroused when overwhelmed, which may result in mouthing, jumping, or humping behaviours. His new family will need to provide consistent structure, clear boundaries, and regular opportunities for rest and relaxation to help him learn how to settle and self-regulate.

This clever boy thrives when given plenty of enrichment, and we'd recommend feeding meals through puzzle toys, enrichment activities, and training sessions to keep his busy mind engaged. He also loves his toys and would enjoy a home where he can be included in family activities and adventures.

Tank would do best with indoor and outdoor access so he can spend quality time with his family while having opportunities to relax and unwind. Due to his excitable nature, he may be best suited to a home with calmer, older children who can understand his body language and give him space when needed. Any children in the home must meet him prior to adoption.

Tank may also enjoy living with a social, tolerant canine companion. He can be quite forward and enthusiastic when meeting other dogs and may become reactive when frustrated, so ongoing guidance and appropriate introductions will be important. Any resident dogs must meet Tank before adoption.
