Patrick's Story

Meet Patrick - your future little shadow with the big brown eyes Patrick is a sweet, playful pup who lights up the moment he sees a friendly face. He's food‑motivated, eager to please, and so quick to learn - the kind of pup who watches you with those big, soft brown eyes that seem to say, "I'm ready... just show me what to do!" While his siblings have all been adopted, Patrick is still waiting patiently for his turn. He doesn't understand why he's the last one left - he has so much love to give, so much joy bottled up inside him - he just needs someone to choose him. His tail still wags, his ears still perk up at visitors, and his goofy little puppy energy hasn't faded one bit. He's still full of hope - and full of love. Patrick would thrive in a calm, predictable home where he can be the only dog and soak up all the cuddles, attention, and gentle guidance he can get. He's the kind of dog who bonds deeply and loves with his whole heart, happy to be your loyal companion in whatever you do. And don't be fooled by that soulful gaze - behind those big brown eyes is a playful, curious little guy who's ready to explore the world, learn new tricks, and grow into the wonderful dog he's meant to be. If you're looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will adore you endlessly and brighten even your quietest days, Patrick might just be your perfect match.

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
