Dottie's Story

Meet Dottie – Your Adventure Buddy! 🐾

If you're looking for a dog who is always ready to join in on the fun, Dottie might just be your perfect match! This active, happy girl loves being part of the action and is looking for a family that can keep up with her zest for life.

Dottie enjoys a good game with her favourite toys, especially tennis balls and squeaky toys, and she's more than happy to keep herself entertained when needed. She also loves enrichment activities and is always eager to get her brain working and her tail wagging.

This energetic girl would love a home where she can be included in family adventures, whether that's daily walks, backyard playtime, or simply being involved in the day's activities. Dottie can live with children and would love to meet the whole family before heading home.

Dottie is looking for a home where she can be the one and only canine star. While she prefers not to share her home with other dogs, she can still enjoy walks out in the community and is happy to take in the sights and smells alongside her people. Because she likes her personal space, dog parks and off-leash areas aren't her style.

A secure yard with solid fencing will help Dottie feel safe and comfortable while she settles into her new home.

If you're after a fun-loving, playful companion who will happily join you for life's adventures and keep you smiling along the way, come and meet Dottie – she's ready to find her perfect family! ❤️🐶

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
