Diesel's Story

Hi, I'm Diesel, a young at heart guy with a big love for toys. If there's a toy nearby, chances are it's mine and I'm proudly carrying it around. I like to use my toys to keep myself busy and happy, and they're one of my favourite ways to relax and have fun. Lucky for you, this kind of Diesel runs on toys and cuddles instead of having to fill up that car ;) Because I love toys so much, my new humans will need to help me keep playtime structured. Games like fetch are great, but I do best when they have a clear start and finish so I know when it's time to play and when it's time to wind down. Swapping my toys out for a chew or enrichment activity after a game really helps me settle and relax. I can be a little unsure about very close handling sometimes, so I'd love a family who will take the time to learn my body language and let me guide interactions while I'm settling in. When people respect my space and go at my pace, I'm much more comfortable and relaxed. I handled my separation test really well, but it would still be ideal if my people were home fairly often (of course I still enjoy the company of people) If I'm alone, I could be left inside or outside, ensuring you have secure 6-foot fencing :) I already know some clever things like sit, shake and drop. I'd love a family who will keep up my training because it helps keep my brain busy and gives me something positive to focus on. I'd probably suit a home with older kids who can join in with my training and games. While I enjoy other dogs for walks or playdates, I'd likely do best as the only dog in the home so I don't have to share my beloved toys. Look forward to hearing from you soon! - Diesel
