With over 450 staff and 3,140 volunteers, every rescue, adoption, and act of compassion reflects the care, capability, and commitment of our people, donors, and supporters. Together, we assisted more than 42,000 animals, ensuring kindness and care remain at our core.
Our Inspectorate investigated 13,874 animal welfare complaints this year. Nine of the most severe cases were escalated for prosecution, with one resulting in a conviction - a vital step toward justice for animals.
We continue to champion meaningful change for animals through evidence-based advocacy and collaboration. This year, focusing our efforts on five key areas: deforestation and wildlife welfare, our state election scorecard campaign, shark net reform, the Breeder Supply Number System (BIN) and Poultry Standards legislation.
Just as busy as ever, our wildlife and rescue teams saw 27,111 native animals through our Wildlife Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre this year, with thousands of our native lorikeets and flying fox populations severely impacted by Paralysis Syndrome in summer.
Our community programs continued to meet growing demand with 166 pets provided safe temporary care and veterinary services whose owners were escaping domestic and family violence, while our Community Days supported 565 pets and their owners to strengthen responsible pet ownership.
Our social enterprises continue to drive our profit for purpose strategy to reinvest funds from Op Shop and retail sales into stronger animal welfare outcomes. And we launched our National RSPCA Lottery program: a crucial source of funding for our animal welfare services nationwide.
2025 also marked the end of an era with our final Million Paws Walk fundraiser celebrated across the country after 31 incredible years.
To all who stand beside us, including our staff, donors, volunteers, and those who have remembered us in their Wills, we say thank you. Your compassion helps us protect, heal, and give hope to those animals who need it most.
