Beautiful Quokka was just a pup when she was surrendered to the RSPCA with her mum and 11 siblings.
Sadly, a year after she was first adopted as a puppy, her owner's situation changed, so adorable Quokka found her way back at the RSPCA looking for a second chance once again.
That’s when Mel and Yanek came to her rescue.
Recently mourning the soul-shattering loss of their beloved dog and RSPCA Furbassador, Amos, Mel and Yanek weren’t even considering new companion so soon. But when Mel reached out to visit the animals in shelter care at the RSPCA, that's when she met Quokka. The RSPCA foster team were desperately trying to find a temporary home for Quokka as she wasn't coping with shelter life.
After much deliberation, Mel and Yanek decided to foster Quokka for a short while to help her enjoy time away from the shelter in a loving home while she waited for her new furever family.
But when the time came for Quokka to return to the shelter and potentially be adopted into a new home, Mel and Yanek couldn't bear the thought of life without her. Unable to part with Quokka, they decided to adopt.
