RSPCA Queensland has labelled thieves that have targeted the charity overnight as ‘grubs'.

RSPCA Mackay Manager Susan Armstrong, arrived to find the office broken into, vandalised and the safe stolen. “It’s heartbreaking that this has happened. Our office foster cat Zuzu was also let out!”

RSPCA Queensland is 99 percent funded by donations from the community. This incident will hinder the charity leading into one of their busiest times of year.

The area has been cordoned off for forensic investigation but the centre is open as normal for visitors looking to adopt. This is not the first incident this week with the Kingaroy RSPCA also being targeted by thieves on Sunday evening.
