Information

Animal is injured, sick or neglected and requires attention.

Snoopy the Beagle who alerted an Acacia Ridge family that their house was on fire will tomorrow be presented with a special RSPCA Qld Animal Achievement Award.

Although the house had fire alarms, firefighters said the blaze was so intense that it initially contained very little smoke and that if they hadn’t been woken by Snoopy barking it might well have been too late.

“I have no doubt that Snoopy saved our lives,” said father Bill Winter who was living in the house with his son and daughter. “He’s always been a wonderful dog but he’s truly special now.”

Snoopy will be presented with a commemorative plaque, a VERY large bone and his pick from the World for Pets superstore.

When: 10.30 am, Friday 17 June

Where: Brisbane Animal Care Campus, Wacol Station Road, Wacol
