Urgent

If animal is seriously injured or trapped, call us immediately.

Information

Animal is injured, sick or neglected and requires attention.

Every day at the RSPCA it is a struggle to find space for animals that don’t necessarily need to be surrendered. Our Dakabin shelter is stretched thin with 105 surrendered and stray pets coming through the doors each week, despite only having total accommodation for just 300 animals.

Read the top reasons for surrendering a pet at our Dakabin RSPCA here.

Here are some tips with how you can help:

  • Going on holiday? Find a pet sitter (try PetCloud Pet Sitting), ask a reliable friend or relative to care for your animals while you are away or find a boarding kennel for your pets.
  • Does your pet have behavioural issues? Contact us on 3426 9999 for advice, book them in for training with RSPCA School for Dogs or a behaviour specialist.
  • Is your pet desexed? Unwanted litters can be prevented and less animals will need to find a home with preventative measures. Talk to your vet.
  • Moving home? Contact real estate agents in your area for pet friendly accommodation.
