RSPCA Queensland is proud to receive the Outstanding Animal Shelter Award for 2018!

Spokesperson Michael Beatty said, “This is a great honour and belongs to all our dedicated staff and volunteers. I believe that perhaps part of the reason we were chosen was our ongoing willingness to try new initiatives to improve animal welfare throughout Queensland.”

Companion Animal Rescue Awards Founder Cathy Beer from Pets4Life said, “The bar was set very high and we received many outstanding submissions from rescue groups and animal shelters across the nation.

“In a field of 200 registrations, a total of 89 rehoming organisations completed a submission for categories 1 to 6. The winners demonstrated their ability to not only provide excellent animal welfare outcomes but also ensure the sustainability of their organisation.”

This win will also allow RSPCA Queensland to support the animal rescue groups that took part in Big Adopt Out this year.
“We have purchased enrichment toys to help the many animals in rescue group care, as they too do incredible work to help animals in need,” Michael said.
