Learn dog body language
While our canine companions can’t speak to us verbally, we can learn a lot about what they are saying through body language.

Nugget is a gentle, affectionate boy with a sensitive nature who is learning to feel safe after coming from a hoarding environment. He enjoys human interaction and will seek out attention once he feels comfortable, but he can become overwhelmed in new or busy spaces, so he will benefit from starting in a small, quiet room and gradually expanding his territory as his confidence grows. Providing plenty of hiding spots and vertical spaces will help him feel secure.
Nugget can become mildly overstimulated with too much handling, so he is best suited to a home with teens or adults who understand cat body language and can give him space when needed. Having lived with other cats, he may do well with a calm, social feline companion if introductions are managed carefully and resources are spread out to avoid competition. He may also be able to live with a calm, respectful dog under supervision.
With patience, understanding and a stable home environment, Nugget will continue to blossom and form a strong bond with his new family.
