Hank's Story

πŸ’™πŸΎ Meet Hank - Your Ride‑or‑Die Best Mate! πŸΎπŸ’™ Say hello to Hank, a 4‑year‑old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart of gold, a goofy grin, and the soul of a loyal adventure buddy πŸš™πŸΆβœ¨ This handsome dude has left his puppy chaos days behind and stepped into his prime era - calm, cuddly, clever, and ready to be someone's whole world. It's hard to believe this beautiful boy was once an unclaimed stray at Rockhampton Pound πŸ˜” But now? He's thriving, glowing, and charming everyone he meets. πŸ•β€πŸ¦Ί Hank's Vibe Hank is a dude. He's the kind of dog who slots into your life like he's always been there πŸ’› He's slightly on the cuddly side (we call that extra huggable 😌) and would benefit from regular daily exercise. Luckily, he's an absolute gentleman on lead and LOVES his sniffari outings πŸŒΏπŸ‘ƒ πŸΆπŸ’ž Social King Hank enjoys the company of humans and dogs alike - he's already picked himself a cute little girlfriend at the shelter! πŸ’˜ He loves doggy play, friendly interactions, and being part of the social scene. πŸ’¦πŸŒŠ Water Boy Energy This guy LOVES water. Give him a paddling pool, a dam, a hose, a splash zone - he's in his element πŸ’¦πŸΎ If you've got water, you've got Hank's heart. 🏑❀️ Home Life Goals Hank is the perfect mix of independent and affectionate. He'll settle beautifully when left alone, but he needs to live indoors with his people - not to be clingy, but to keep an eye on his beloved humans and feel included in family life πŸ›‹οΈπŸ‘€ He's toilet trained, has lovely manners, and yes... he does love to jump up for a special hug πŸ€—πŸ’™ 🧠✨ Smart, Sensitive & So Worth It As a working breed mix, Hank has the smarts - big time. He thrives with: 🌱 Slow, positive introductions 🫢 A kind, gentle guardian 🧠 Mental enrichment πŸ’› Reassurance when things feel a bit worrying Give him patience and kindness, and he'll give you the best dog you've ever had. 🌟 Where Will Hank Fit? Honestly... almost anywhere. He's adaptable, affectionate, social, and eager to belong. All he needs is a loving home where he feels safe, included, and truly wanted. πŸ’™πŸΎ Hank is ready. Are you? If you're looking for a loyal mate, a water‑loving goofball, a cuddle champion, and a true-blue Aussie companion... ✨ Hank is your guy ✨

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
