Hi, I'm Teddy... your resident Wiggle King! πŸ‘‘πŸΎ If you're looking for a dog who will make you feel like the most important person in the world... that's me. I specialise in BIG wiggles, full-body tail wags, and greeting you at the door with a toy in my mouth like it's the greatest celebration ever πŸŽ‰ I'm a sweet, goofy, affectionate boy who absolutely loves my people. Once I feel comfy, I'll lean right into you for pats (I'm very good at this, by the way) and soak up all the love. I'm also a super smart cookie πŸͺ-and I'm very food motivated (yum!). I LOVE puzzle toys, snuffle mats, and anything that lets me use my brain to find snacks. Honestly, if you put my meals in enrichment, I will think you are the best human ever. I'd really love a family who can keep teaching me new things and help me build my manners. I'm eager to learn and enjoy training-it means more snacks and more time with you! Shelter life has been a bit overwhelming for me, so I might take a little time to settle into my new home. But once I do? Get ready for peak Wiggle King mode. I'll be your soft, happy, toy-carrying shadow. Speaking of toys... I LOVE them. I like to carry them around when I'm excited (or even when I'm not sure what's going on), and sometimes I'll even do happy woofy noises with one in my mouth-talented, I know 😌 I can get a little jumpy when I'm excited, but I respond really well to guidance and cues. I just need a home that will help me keep learning. 🐢 Dog friends? I think I'd do best as your one and only for now, so I can really settle in and grow my confidence. Maybe down the track I could have some dog friends, but for now, I'd love all your attention! Visit your nearest RSPCA Adoption Centre, RSPCA Op Shop, RSPCA World for Pets or Petbarn store and adopt an animal in person. You can also apply to adopt an animal online.

What will you need before bringing your dog home?

Before you bring your dog home, make sure you have:

  • Collar and ID tag
  • Lead and harness
  • Food and water bowls
  • Appropriate dog food
  • Poop-scooper
  • Comfortable bedding
  • Toys for enrichment
  • Grooming products
  • Tick, flea and worming products

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.
