Rizzo's Story
40 days and still waiting... Rizzo has been at our shelter for over a month now, hoping for a place to call home. She's very easy-going and gracious, therefore it's hard to understand why she hasn't found her people yet. Perhaps it's her 'wallflower' personality where she quietly observes from a distance, until she has the confidence to step forward. We have found, however, when the toys (wand toy/wool ball) come out, this girl likes to have fun...and lots of it! Rizzo is very affectionate, loves head bops and has a loud purr to let you know she's happy.
Rizzo's coat colour is known as a 'black tortoiseshell' which is a mix of black and warm gingers-a very delicious combination. Her large, inquisitive eyes are yellow with a hint of green towards the centre. An important detail is that Rizzo will give you slow blinks when you meet her gaze, and this shows trust. It's ideal for you to return that slow blink to her. Some boring but necessary requirements for Rizzo:-
## A diet of high-quality dry biscuits, wet food and fresh, cool water. Also regular vet visits.
## An indoor environment where she will feel safe and will come to no harm.
## A patient, loving adopter with a quiet household that will let Rizzo open up at her own pace.
## Rizzo could possibly live with gentle, older children (say 10 years plus). Really young children may frighten her.
## We are unaware of Rizzo's past history regarding other furry pets.
## Plenty of inside enrichment e.g. cat towers, toys, sunny windows and cozy spots.
## A quiet, temporary launch room will help Rizzo establish herself. Noises may scare her.
