Mambo's Story

Hi, I'm Mambo 💛🐾 I'm a sweet, gentle boy with a soft heart... I just need a little time to show you. When I first came into the shelter, I was really scared of the world-but I've been working hard on building my confidence, and I'm getting braver every day! I've formed some special bonds with my favourite people, and once I trust you, I'll be right by your side. I love leaning in for pats or quietly sitting next to you-being close to my person is my favourite place to be 🥰 New places can still feel a bit overwhelming for me, so I'm looking for a patient and understanding human who will give me the time and space I need to settle in. At first, I'd much prefer to hang out at home with you while we build our bond, rather than heading straight out on big adventures. I'm still learning about touch and handling, and I can get a bit excited or mouthy if I feel overwhelmed. I just need gentle, positive guidance (and tasty treats!) to help me feel safe and relaxed-promise I'm trying my best. I'm starting to enjoy my walks more, especially in calm, quiet areas. Busy places can still worry me, so slow and steady is the way to go. I'm also still learning my lead manners, so I'll need some ongoing training to help me along. I'd do best in a home with older teens who understand how to give me space and read my body language when I need a break. 🐶 Dog friends? I've actually been pretty lovely with other dogs! I've shown I can be soft, social, and relaxed, especially with calm companions, so I'd be happy to meet a potential friend. I'm just a quiet, loving boy who needs someone to believe in me and go at my pace. Once I feel safe, I'll give you all the love I have to give-and trust me, it's a lot 💕 Love, Mambo 🐾
