Learn dog body language
While our canine companions can’t speak to us verbally, we can learn a lot about what they are saying through body language.

Meet Bert, a quiet, independent gentleman with a cheeky charm who’s looking for a calm home where he can truly be himself. He can be a shy boy at first and isn’t a fan of being rushed or over-pampered, but with patience and understanding, he’ll show his softer side, enjoying gentle pats and even engaging in a bit of play with wand or fishing toys when he feels confident.
Bert loves having his own safe spots to retreat to and absolutely adores high places like cat trees or shelves where he can survey his kingdom from above. Gazing out windows is one of his favourite activities, observing all the birds outside. He also has a soft spot for the occasional chicken treat! He’s not the kind of cat who wants to be constantly picked up or fussed over—in fact, Bert much prefers to seek out attention when he’s ready. Busy households and lots of foot traffic are a bit too much for him, so would prefer an adult only home and would really love to be your one and only furry friend in the home.
Bert is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will let him lead the relationship—because while he may take his time, the bond you build with him will be well worth it.
