RSPCA Queensland is a non-government, community-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of domestic, farmed and native animals in Queensland. Our mission statement is simple but powerful: Together We Change Lives.

RSPCA Queensland has Domestic Hospitals located in Wacol, Dakabin, and Toowoomba, as well as clinics in Noosa and Cairns providing care to over 17,000 domestic animals every year.

About the role

The Hospital operates 7am-8pm, 7 days a week. This role will best suit those who thrive in a fast-paced environment with a varied case load. Domestic patients are admitted to the hospital via members of the public, RSPCA animal ambulances, our Community Outreach program, Inspectorate and internal transfers from regional shelters. Your role will require you to work as part of a dynamic team within the veterinary clinic and surgery.

  • Provide high quality veterinary care (both medical and surgical) to all animals presented to the clinic.
  • Ensure high quality medical records are maintained for all patients.
  • Ensure a high standard of communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help to ensure good welfare outcomes are achieved for each and every patient.
  • Ensure the values of the RSPCA QLD are upheld amongst domestic veterinarians, veterinary nurses and clinic assistants.
  • Participate in approved research projects as directed by the head scientist.
  • Regularly attend domestic veterinary team and general staff meetings.
  • Attend RSPCA events including Community activation days and fundraising days.
