It will be called "Pale Tail" and the RSPCA Queensland are hoping it will become a “no brainer” choice for everyone who enjoys a beer and wants to support the vital work of the RSPCA in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals across the State.
The "Pale Tail" beer will be officially launched by the Good Beer Co at a special Pours for Paws event on Sunday December 2nd between 2pm to 4pm at Slipstream Brewing Company's brewery.
The 3.5 percent "Pale Ale" is brewed for The Good Beer Co by award winning independent craft brewery Slipstream Brewing Company in Brisbane and ten percent of the price of every keg, six pack and carton will go directly to RSPCA Qld to help fund their work.
The can's eye catching branding features two rescue dogs "saying hello" in the traditional way with the cheeky advice to drinkers to "say bottoms up".
The new beer's name was selected by festival goers at Beer InCider on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of September where it raised over $1,000 for RSPCA QLD, and afterwards by the RSPCA Queensland's volunteer army, who selected "Pale Tail" above "Good Paw".Dog lover and Minister for Social Enterprise, Shannon Fentiman MP, will pull the first beer and launch a pre order campaign for the first batch of the new "Pale Tail" in cans, with her dogs, Emi & Harry, in tow. She'll be joined at Pours for Paws by four legged guests and their dog loving owners from across South East Queensland.
A competition to find the face of "Pale Tail" will take place at the event and dogs will be well catered for with treats on hand. Their owners of course will get to sample and buy a "Pale Tail". RSPCA QLD will also be running a special pop up adoption
“This is a fantastic, simple and very jovial way to support our work,” said RSPCA Qld spokesperson Michael Beatty. “When you crack open a can of Pale Tail you'll be toasting RSPCA QLD and helping fund the important work we do to help animals in need across our state."
The Good Beer Co Founder James Grugeon said: "I'm a big dog lover and my dog Bobby is The Good Beer Co's mascot. I am a big fan of RSPCA Qld and am stoked that we're now able to support their important work with a fantastic Pale Ale brewed right here in Queensland."
