On Monday the 19th of June, RSPCA Queensland received multiple reports of vision showing a person throwing a cat out of a moving car window from an overpass in Beenleigh onto the M1 Pacific Motorway.

RSPCA conducted preliminary investigations and provided the information to Queensland Police Service (QPS) who are now investigating.

On the same evening, QPS conducted interviews and charged a 15-year-old girl with Animal Cruelty relating to this incident.

Spokesperson for RSPCA Queensland, Emma Lagoon says, "We condemn this blatant act of animal cruelty. They clearly have no empathy and a total disregard for life."

"We also don't know the outcome and suffering the cat endured from this awful situation."

Anyone who witnesses animal cruelty or has animal welfare concerns is urged to contact the RSPCA on 1300 ANIMAL.

"It is deeply concerning that anyone could be capable of doing such a thing to an animal."
