Our RSPCA Animal Emergency Hospital receives thousands of calls a day about animals in need of rescue across Queensland.

We could not attend over 26,000 rescue call outs every year without the help of our Wildlife Heroes.

You can join our team of RSPCA Wildlife Heroes by volunteering your time to assist with wildlife rescues and releases, or by volunteering as an Animal Ambulance driver or in other Wildlife Hospital volunteer roles.

Being a Wildlife Hero is a selfless and rewarding decision that doesn’t have to take up all your spare time. With the option to attend to calls in an area of your choice, to animals that you feel comfortable handling, this decision can work with your lifestyle.

RSPCA Wildlife Heroes are asked to assist sick, injured or orphaned wildlife. In many cases these animals have already been placed in confinement for travel and simply need to be picked up and transported to receive care.

Only registered wildlife rehabilitators with permits from the Department of Environment and Science (DES) can care for wildlife at their residence, all other animals need to be transferred into veterinary care as soon as possible.

If you can help our Australian Wildlife, apply to become an RSPCA Wildlife Hero today!
