The Foster Care Program is a vital part of the RSPCA. Each year thousands of dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, poultry, livestock, horses, caged birds, mice, rats and guinea pigs, rely on our wonderful foster carers for a second chance in life. Many of these animals are simply too young for desexing and adoption. Others may be injured, sick or have a behavioural issue that needs addressing.

A home environment is far better for an animal compared to a pen or cage in the shelter. A loving foster family can provide a more stress-free and caring place where an animal can grow, thrive and recover.

Our Labrador Adoption Centre requires puppy foster carers to care for puppies outside of their adoption centre opening hours.  Carers will be used on an ad hoc basis to provide short term care, sometimes only overnight.

Carers need to be available to collect and drop off puppies to and from the RSPCA Labrador Op Shop located at 118 Brisbane Road, LABRADOR.  Training will be provided.  A property check may be required.  Please apply by completing an Expression of Interest form located on this website (or by contacting fostering@rspcaqld.org.au for an information package and EOI).  Thank you for making a difference in the lives of animals in need.
