The Foster Care Program is a vital part of the RSPCA. Each year thousands of dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, poultry, livestock, horses, caged birds, mice, rats and guinea pigs, rely on our wonderful foster carers for a second chance in life. Many of these animals are simply too young for desexing and adoption. Others may be injured, sick or have a behavioural issue that needs addressing.
A home environment is far better for an animal compared to a pen or cage in the shelter. A loving foster family can provide a more stress-free and caring place where an animal can grow, thrive and recover.
As our Gold Coast Shelter already has an adequate amount of foster carers for small breed adult dogs and puppies, applications for these type of animals are currently closed. However, we welcome you to express your interest in becoming a foster parent to medium and large breed adult dogs, cats and kittens.
If you would like to know more about the RSPCA Foster Care Program, email firstname.lastname@example.org to request an information package and expression of interest form (alternately, you can contact the State Foster Care Coordinator on 07 3426 9997 to provide your postal address).
