This rewarding volunteer role involves collecting animals from the Dakabin Shelter and transferring them to Wacol Campus or local pet barns. The driver will be responsible for the safe transportation of the animals in their care, and will be representing the RSPCA in a positive manner whilst driving a branded RSPCA vehicle. In this role the driver will also be required to liaise with a number of other agencies with whom the RSPCA is affiliated.

This is a flexible / on call role. Most of the driving will be done between 7.30am – 12pm, the day will depend on when transfers need to be done. A commitment of three months is required. Full orientation and training is provided.

Skills required – Courteous and considerate driver with good communication skills. Hold a current open driver’s licence. Sound driving skills and the ability to cope in traffic. Physically fit and able to lift 10kg. Good animal handling skills. Some transfers will include towing a trailer, PLEASE state if you have any towing experience on your application.

PLEASE NOTE: As part of volunteering with us you will be required to purchase an RSPCA Volunteer T-shirt for $25. It is also a requirement that before handling animals at the RSPCA you have an up to date Tetanus vaccination.
