Working from home (in a vehicle we provide) you will be responsible for receiving jobs via the Inspectorate and actioning these jobs. This will involve attending locations to collect and transport sick or injured animals (both wildlife and domestic) and taking them to our Toowoomba shelter or to external vets. Due to Workplace Health and Safety guidelines within this role, you will undergo ongoing training and would not be expected to subject yourself to dangerous situations without demonstrated appropriate skill and confidence.

It is also important to mention that you will witness animals in distress that may sometimes be injured. The ability to constructively deal with this both at the time and after the event is crucial. Lastly, as the other function of the Ambulance in this Region will be public service, an ability to communicate effectively to people of a variety of backgrounds, in a variety of situations, is integral.
Volunteer characteristics required: Confidence, commitment, dedication, reliability and willingness to be a passionate advocate for animal welfare in Queensland. Couples/friends are eligible to work together in this role with one being a Driver and the other an Assistant.
