• Jake Packard visiting Noosa RSPCA

  • Major with Jake

There is something in the water at RSPCA Qld! Jake Packard is our newest Olympic swimmer to join the cause as an RSPCA Ambassador. You may have noticed Jake at Rio swimming alongside fellow Ambassador, Mitch Larkin in the men’s 4x100m medley relay and picking up Bronze. What a champ!

Jake explains why he wanted to get involved to help all creatures great and small, “It's something close to my heart and I have a real passion for animals. I'm currently studying animal ecology and it's something I want to pursue in my future career.”

“I'm passionate about any activity that involves the RSPCA. I was most excited to be a part of the Millions Paws Walk this year, because my dad rescued our current dog and I was excited for her to meet and interact with other dogs.”

Mika is a 3 year old border collie.

Jake tells us about representing Australia at the Olympics. “It is such an opportunity to be able to be selected to do something you're passionate about. It has probably been one of the best experiences I have ever had. To be able to race against the best athletes around the world is such a privilege.”
