Princess's Story

Hi, I'm Princess! 👑

I'm a happy-go-lucky girl who loves making friends and enjoying life. Whether I'm playing with my favourite squeaky toys, heading out for a walk, or spending time with my people, I'm always ready for some fun! I'm a very social girl and love being included in family activities.

I could live with a calm, social male dog who doesn't mind helping me learn the ropes, and I may be suitable for a home with older children or children who have experience around excitable larger dogs. I'm currently working on my manners, including keeping all four paws on the floor when I get excited! I'll thrive in a home that keeps me busy with enrichment, playtime, and regular adventures. After a little time to settle, I'm happy to relax and wait for my family to come home. If you're looking for a cheerful, affectionate companion, I could be the perfect princess for you!

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
