Pippa's Story

đŸŸ Meet Pippa & Archie: Double the Dachshund Love! đŸŸ

Bonded Adoption | $1,500 total for both

Pippa and Archie are an adorable bonded duo looking for a loving home where they can continue life side by side. These two little Dachshunds are happiest together and are searching for a family who will give them the time, patience and reassurance they need to settle into their new surroundings. Once they start feeling safe and comfortable, their sweet, excitable and playful personalities can really begin to shine.

Due to their nervous nature, Pippa and Archie are be best suited to a home with older children who can give them space when they need it. These two are looking to be included as part of the family and will need to be allowed indoors, rather than living an outdoor-only lifestyle. Their new home will also need secure fencing, particularly along the bottom, to keep those little Dachshund legs safely where they belong!

Most importantly, Pippa and Archie are looking for a family who will love them together. Give this beautiful duo the chance to settle in at their own pace, and you’ll get to enjoy twice the personality, twice the companionship and twice the Dachshund love!

What should I feed my dog?

Your dog's diet should be based on a high-quality, balanced premium commercial dog food that is suited to their specific life stage (puppy, adolescent, adult, pregnant, senior) and health condition.

The amount of food your dog needs will depend on factors like their size, breed, age, and activity level. However, it’s important not to overfeed or underfeed. Your vet can weigh your dog, assess their body condition score, and offer feeding recommendations.

To prevent bloat, which can be life-threatening, adult dogs should be fed at least twice a day and should not engage in exercise right before or after meals. This is especially important for deep-chested breeds like Boxers and German Shepherds.

Make sure fresh drinking water is always available. Do not give your dog milk as it can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

Should I feed bones to my dog?

Bones offer dogs nutrients and mental stimulation while helping remove tartar from their teeth. However, bones can also break teeth, cause blockages, and carry harmful bacteria. Consider these factors to make an informed decision for your pet and family’s wellbeing.

Dental chews are a good alternative if you wish to provide your pet with entertainment that assists with teeth cleaning. Visit RSPCA World for Pets for a range of quality dental chews for your dog.
