Learn dog body language
While our canine companions can’t speak to us verbally, we can learn a lot about what they are saying through body language.

Hey there my name is Brutus a gorgeous young guy looking for a new home. When you meet me you will be mesemerised by my beautiful colour. I’m a little shy and unsure of humans and need a bit of work to become the great pet I know I could be, but for some sunflower seeds we could be friends. A human who has experience with parrots would be recommended. I love words, whistles, and learning little tricks. I would like to get to the stage where I can have out-of-cage time or be in a large aviary. Birds like me need lots of mental stimulation think puzzle toys, safe chewables, and lots of conversation. I’m happiest with a patient, bird-savvy home that can read my mood and respect my boundaries. I can also be a bit dramatic and loud at times, which means I’m best suited to a home that appreciates a vocal, expressive companion. I cherish routine, fresh fruits and veggies, and a spacious cage I can explore. I’m good with calm, respectful household members and older kids who understand “gentle” and “leave-me-alone” signals. I am alone here at the shelter and parrots are not recommended to be a solo pets, so I would love it if you had a companion for me to talk to. I would love for you to come and meet me!
