This rewarding volunteer role involves working in our Adoption Centre assisting customers with purchases, receiving incoming donations, sorting and pricing stock, replenishing the retails displays and cash handling experience. This position would suit any applicant passionate about helping their local community and those wishing to help raise much needed funds for RSPCA Qld.

The position requires the successful applicant to attend a shift for 4 hours on a weekly basis and be available for a minimum of 3 months. Cash handling is part of this role and the use of a cash register/eftpos machine is required. In addition to the retail duties the role also includes the care and feeding of the animals, including cleaning pens and litter trays of our adoption animals.

This position is available from Monday to Sunday in two shifts, the first from 9am – 1pm and 1pm – 5pm

Due to the amount of training required, we do ask for a commitment of 1x four hour shift per week for a minimum of 3 months. Full orientation and training is provided.

Skills required – Exceptional customer service skills, cash handling and the ability to learn how to use the cash register, the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.

Skills to be gained – Retail, merchandising and customer service experience.

PLEASE NOTE: As part of volunteering with us you will be required to purchase an RSPCA Volunteer T-shirt for $25. It is also a requirement you have an up to date Tetanus vaccination that before handling animals at the RSPCA.
