Dog Training    

The RSPCA Qld Animal Training & Behaviour Centre offers a variety of programs to suit any dog, irrespective of age from puppy to adulthood.

 

All training programs use positive reinforcement training techniques which result in confident and well-adjusted family companions.

 

We focus on good manners, helping you to develop the skills to teach your companion any desirable behaviour required.

 

 

Training programs

 

K9 Kindergarten:

Get your puppy off to the right start with this fun-based program. Puppies from 8-16 weeks of age.

Junior Manners:

Build on the foundations of the K9 Kindergarten program. Prerequisite – completion of K9 Kindergarten program or puppy preschool at any training school.

Basic Program:

Learn how to interpret your dog’s behaviour and how to train your dog to practise basic behaviours. Dogs from 16 weeks of age.

Intermediate Program:

Teach your dog to perform behavioural tasks under greater distractions. Prerequisite – completion of Basic Program.

Rally-O & Trick Training:

Extend your dog’s skills with this program, which includes “Rally-O” exercises, tricks and street skills. Prerequisite – completion of Intermediate Program.

Calm Classes:

Teach your dog coping skills to enable you to take your dog for a walk without being pulled off your feet, or fearing its reaction to other dogs and people. Dogs from 16 weeks of age.

Dog Sport Prep Course:

Learn the skills that are essential for dog sports such as Agility and Flyball.

Agility Program:

Build the bond between you and your dog with this exercise and obstacle course program. Prerequisite – completion of Dog Sport Prep Program.

Flyball:

Combine your dog’s obedience and agility skills in the only team sport for dogs on the planet! Prerequisite – completion of the Dog Sport Prep Course.

Conditions of class participation
During the first class, we will check all vaccination certificates to ensure that every animal coming to our centre is healthy and fully vaccinated.
